Shoe Inventory
Keep a list of your running shoes and see how many kilometres (or miles) each pair has done, so you know when it is time to replace them.
Adding a pair
- Open the Equipment section: on the web it is at the bottom of the Exercises page; in the mobile app it is Library > Equipment.
- Tap Add shoe and fill in the details:
- Name is the only required field. Brand, model and a nickname are optional.
- Starting mileage is for a pair that already has some distance on it when you add it.
- Retire at is the distance after which the pair counts as worn out. It starts at 800 km (about 500 mi).
- Purchase date and Price are optional.
- Switch on Use as my default pair to have new runs recorded in the mobile app, outdoor (GPS) or indoor, logged with that pair. Only one pair can be the default; choosing another one replaces it.
Distances follow your distance unit (kilometres or miles). They are stored in kilometres, so changing the unit later converts them.
Linking a run to a pair
- Web: open a cardio entry (a run, walk or ride) from your diary, pick the shoe under Shoe, and save.
- Mobile: open the run from your diary (or from Exercise Statistics) and use Shoe. A run recorded in the app, outdoor or indoor, is saved with your default pair automatically; change it from the session screen if you wore a different one.
A pair's mileage is its starting mileage plus the distance of every run linked to it. Changing or removing the link, editing the distance, or deleting the run updates the total.
Wear and retirement
Each card shows a progress bar, the number of runs and the date of the last run. Once the total reaches the Retire at distance the card shows a Worn out badge and asks whether to retire the pair, with a one-tap Retire button.
Retire moves a pair to the retired list and clears its default flag. Its past runs keep their link, so the mileage history stays intact, and you can Reactivate it later. A retired pair no longer appears in the shoe picker unless a run is already linked to it.
Delete removes the pair. Runs logged with it stay in your diary but are no longer linked to a shoe.
Family access
Shoes are part of the exercise diary. A family member with Manage Diary access can add pairs and link runs on your behalf; View Reports access can see them.
